For anyone hoping to see Peter Frankopan, Raja Shehadeh and Penny Johnson – who were part of the original festival programme – unfortunately they have had to cancel due to the escalating war in the Middle East. 

 

Raja and Penny are unable to get out of Ramallah – we wish them well and hope they can visit us to talk in the near future. Their apologies, and ours, go to all who wanted to see both them and Peter.

 

In their stead will come Dan Richards, whose remarkable new book Overnight will change forever the way you think about the hours after dark, and festival favourite Horatio Clare makes a welcome return.
